More specifically, the boundary between two entity systems is where the output of mei (matter, energy, information) of one system is tapped by another system.

Entity systems also extend in time. For example, the outputs of an organisation can be bought some time after they are produced or messages are received any time after they were issued.

Each activity system of an entity system is tapped at a different point in space and time. Thus an entity system is actually connected to an inner and outer web which is part of the biomatrix. Also the central self-referring activity systems of the entity system form a web which interfaces with the entity’s outer and inner web.

Each entity system is linked to its own unique sub-web within the biomatrix.

Even if an entity system seems to be contained  by a skin which seems to act as a barrier (like the skin of an organism, membrane of a cell, atmosphere of the planet, building of an organisation), they actually reach beyond this apparent boundary to where the contributions of their activity systems are tapped.  For example, an organisation extends to where its products are bought or its brand is perceived. Or, in phoning my friend on another continent, I reach as far as her ear which taps me.
