For example, a building exists in physical space, while the idea and plans of the building reside in conceptual space.
The manifestation of a system in both spaces is ‘real’. However these realities exist on a different logical plane.
The physical reality of a system within the biomatrix represents the mei (matter-energy-information) reality that is observable with our senses, aided or unaided by technology (e.g. microscopes, telescopes).
The conceptual reality of the system is part of the universal in-formation field of the biomatrix. This field contains all in-formation through which the physical reality of systems comes into being. The conceptual reality is the domain of the mind and consciousness.
Each system has its own focalised sub-field which contains all information and in-formation pertaining to it. Parts of the field are unique to each system, while other parts are shared with other members of the species and even all systems.
The seven forces of system organisation also reside in the conceptual domain. They refer to different classes of in-formation according to which the in-formation field of a system can be viewed.
The in-formation fields can contain levels (i.e. information is hierarchically organised). For example, the conceptual reality of a house starts with an idea, a series of sketches and iterations of plans until the final plan is drawn up and approved.
The conceptual reality of social systems can contain conflicting in-formation. For example, there can be a professed conceptual reality (e.g. the declared values, aims or rules of the system) and an actual one which can also contain hidden in-formation. The system will unfold according to its actual conceptual reality.
relevance
(Dis)order is the result of a (mis)alignment of the two realities.
relevance for the change manager
Systemic change management facilitates the clarification of the existing conceptual reality of a system and choosing a desirable one to allow it to create a more desirable future.
